Blooming Prairie awards $15,000 to CCF program
July, 2005, Blooming Prairie awards $15,000 to start three Cooperative Community Funds in the Midwest.
In 2005, Anya Firszt, President of Booming Prairie Foundation met at the Willy Street Co-op in Madison, Wisconsin with David Thompson, President of Twin Pines Cooperative Foundation. They met to discuss how the two foundations could work together to encourage more food co-ops in the Midwest to sponsor Cooperative Community Funds. TPCF is grateful for the support of the Blooming Prairie Foundation. The three co-ops receiving a $5,000 from the BPF grant are Open Harvest, Lincoln, Nebraska, Blooming Foods, Bloomington, Indiana and one of the co-ops in the Twin Cities (Seward Co-op, Valley Naturals and Lakewinds).
