The Hanover Cooperative Community Fund (HCCF) was established by the Hanover Co-op’s Board of Directors in 2001. In 2003, the HCCF made its first contributions to two nonprofits in the Hanover area from interest generated by the fund.
Fundraising is accomplished in a number of ways, including an annual employee walkathon; the sales of raffle tickets, t-shirts, and other items; and direct donations from members and shoppers at the registers during our annual drive in October. The greatest number of donations, however, are received when Co-op members give back the patronage refund checks they receive in late May. Since they began donating their patronage refund checks in 2002, thousands of Co-op members have signed over more than $60,000 to their community fund.
